Very interesting programme on TV tonight called something like "Dying to get treatment" which followed the case of a doctor who died after laparoscopic surgery for gall bladder which was undertaken in a private hospital without proper facilities. Interesting to see that the independent witness used at the inquest was no other than Prof McMahon of Leeds, one of the top adhesion specialists in the North. Such a shame he's now retired from the NHS and only does private work.
