Fundraising
There are numerous fun ways of fundraising and they don't have to be energetic.
- Holding a coffee and cake morning or a cream tea afternoon is a great way of keeping in touch with people you may not see often.
- Do you have any contacts with local companies that would nominate our charity as their Charity of the Year?
- Matched funding: Some companies will match the amount raised by their employees.
- Is there anyone in your family or circle of friends who would participate in a sponsored event to raise money for the charity such as a run (marathon), swim, skydive, dance or smokestop?
We can put your fundraising event details on the website with your own event title and donation facility. This enables those who are donating/supporting your event to opt to Gift Aid their contribution which enables tax to be reclaimed automatically for the benefit of the charity. (For UK taxpayers this can add 20% to the amount donated). Those who are doing fundraising events for us can be sponsored via the link on the charity page.
We would be also be pleased to add a photo and summary to the website after your event.
Charity Cards
Plan early for christmas. If you are sending cards and you would like to help us, have a look at the attractive seasonal cards at the Greetings Card Company. 10% of the cost of cards sold goes to our charity. There are plenty of individual cards to choose from as well as unbranded packs of 10 cards for £1.50 (a selection of 6 designs). Charity Greeting Cards
The Adidas Women's 5KChallenge - 5th September 2010
The Adidas Women's 5K Challenge is a fun run for women of all ages taking place in Hyde Park, London in September. In 2008, Jenny Birch (Trustee), Julia Hough (Supporter), Anne-Marie Taylor (Chair) and Judy Birch (Chief Executive) entered the London race and ran/walked the route to raise funds for PPSN. A summary and photos of the event are here.
We would be delighted for others to participate in 2010. For information about the run please click here.
Those participating this year can be sponsored by clicking on the 'donate now' button to the left of this page.
Each One Counts
PPSN is registered with Each one Counts, a company which provides an inkjet cartridge and mobile phone recycling scheme which helps to raise funds for charities.
The web site www.eachonecounts.co.uk will send out freepost bags so you can return up to 5 ink cartridges or 3 mobile phones per bag to them for recycling. They only accept certain inkjet, laser jet or photocopier cartridges and working mobile phones. Phones can raise £3.00 each.
All you have to do is:
- Check that your ink cartridges or mobile phones have a value to the charity
- Register your details on the web site
- Order bags to return the ink cartridges/mobiles in
- Register the bag number on the web site to ensure PPSN receive the donation
- Post the bag and hey presto you have just raised money for the charity
Speak to people at work, family, friends and even neighbours and find out what they or their company do with their empty ink cartridges as they could also be raising money for PPSN.
