Diagnostic tests that can be used for most conditions include ultrasound (US), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and CT scans. Specialized imaging such as intravenous pyelography (IVP) also known as intravenous urography (IVU) can be used to look at the ureter. A barium enema can be used for the bowel. Gynaecological imaging tests include hysterosalpingogram (HSG) to investigate the fallopian tubes.
