Bowel tests include colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy.

A hysteroscopy can be carried out to examine the inside of the uterus and to biopsy the lining of the uterus (endometrium). Sometimes minor surgical procedures such as the removal of uterine polyps can be carried out by hysteroscopy.
