There are several diagnostic tests and procedures that can be used in gynaecology:
- A hysterosalpingogram uses x-ray to look at the uterus and the fallopian tubes.
- A hysteroscopy is a procedure which can be used to look inside the uterus and/or to carry out a procedure such as a biopsy of the uterine lining (endometrium), a D&C or the removal of a polyp.
- A gynaecological laparoscopy is a keyhole surgical procedure which may be used to diagnose a number of conditions affecting the pelvis and/or the abdomen.
Further information about these procedures can be found via the search box or via the menu on the left.
